This is the 1st time that pika is on the leash. Decided to bring him downstairs to have a short walk. Haven't even reach 1st floor, tremble already. As you can see, he does not want to move. Have to repeat this process untill he is familiar and dares to walk in a leash.

4 words - I am very happy ! ^_^

Pika has finally recovered from his pain from microchip jab! Spent a good 30-40minutes with him last night in my arms, feeding him some treats as well as milk. Never felt so good for last 2 days when he was in pain. Great to have his playful behavior back.

This coming Sunday, there's a dog show in expo, still considering if I should bring Pika there to socialise. If i were to do that then it will be his 1st time out in a leash. Have to leash train it for next 2days then. Hmmm.... Guess Pika will still be trembling in fear if he goes there. Hmmmm.... Can't decide.. >.<

Pika, I <3>

Have not been posting and updating since Monday. Will do a summary of everything today. Before i start, I really want to apologise to my Pika. Sorry Pika, daddy made you pain pain.

27th July -

Brought my lovely boy to the vet at 7pm. Went in & the vet checked and weighed him. Everything is good and Pika even gained 200g. weighed at 1.57kg. Scanned Pika to see if he has microchip, but detected none. Vet said it is ok to have 3rd vaccination jab and microchip together at the same visit.

Jabbed down the 3rd vaccine and Pika has no reaction (like no kick like that), vet then took 1/4 of the deworm pill and fed Pika as well. Then microchip came. It was the most shocking moment i had for easily the last 2 years of my human life. Pika barked sharply and i can see that he is in great pain. I tear-ed upon seeing him like this, uncontrollably.

Brought him to Jas place after that and he was ok until when we were about to leave for home and wanted to carry him. That's where he barked sharply again. We assume that he was in pain. After reaching home, he was pretty lethargic and restless. Getting affected with small movements from me and my GF. Left for home and prayed for a better tomorrow. Could not sleep till 4am due to the blame i put on myself for microchiping it.

28th July -
Was worried about Pika the whole day and his behavior. Posted for help in forum in dogsforum.sg and a few experience replied to give me their opinion about Pika's behavior. As per what i have expected, Pika might be suffering from phobia therefore not allowing us to touch him. Probably to the fact of that painful experience. Was really upset about this fact. Behavior wise, he is pretty energetic. Will still play fetch and run after us when we walk. Just that he is very careful and whenever we want to touch him, he will shove to 1 side to prevent us.

Still very emotionally affected by Pika's behavior and really blame myself for giving him the microchip. Should not have done so. I promised to myself irregardless of what happen, i will not microchip anymore dogs that will come by my hand in future. It's really too painful to look at.

Pika, I am Sorry =(

26th July - Official 1st week with us. Since Pika is going to have his 3rd vaccine tomorrow at 7pm, we decided to take him for a basic groom to make Pika smell nice! Took Pika to S&S grooming recommended by Jas. Poor little boy was shivering like siao lor. Groomer took over him and place him in the cage. The 2 JRT keep jumping and scare Pika, from afar also can see him shiver, haiz small guts boy...

1hour later took Pika back, smell damn good, ear look very clean but his coat like only mini trim. Ke lian de boy still shivering due to unfamiliar faces and environment. My sister bought him a harness and leash to sayang him. So forgetful, forget take pic when its with the groomer.

Still very worried abt the vaccination that's happening tmr. Hope my boy is going to be strong as each day goes pass.

Photos taken today during our day out !

Love Pika!

It's been 1week since pika has come home with us. Alot of improvement since 1st 2days when its always trembling in fear. Paper trained on pee-ing but not poo-ing - I know this is quite O.o. Still not really recognising it's own name yet but have bonded really well with family members.

Brought it out today to pet safari to walk walk, haven go in then tremble in fear le. Hugging Jade like koala bear. Then brought it to my home, it's 1st time!, and dare not anyhow run till only 30mins later after it pee-ed on de newspaper then started standing on 2 legs with the support of our body ! Got really well after that then started to play fetch with it with pika's bite bite (a toy where puppies bite when teething). I am really worried about it's 3rd vaccination on monday. So ke lian >.<

Pika, mummy and daddy <3 You <3

To backdate abit - On 19th July, we took pika home from its breeder. I was at work during then so was not really fully aware of the hand over situation.

Laopo, Jas(buddy & owner of Dana) & Alex(Laopo aka Jade's younger brother) took pika to pet safari and pet lover's. Over at pet loves, a few staffs claim that pika has skin mites and it will affect his growth of his fur. T_T, laopo also told me that pika tear-ed when he saw so many pple surrounding him and touching him.

20th July, we took pika to the vet in tampines st 11, lucky the vet say that does not seem to have any problem, just that as a puppy abit skinny. Weighing slightly over 1kg only, vet advised us to feed more on proper meals.

Booked an appointment on 27th July for normal checkup and if everything is ok, pika can be microchipped and 3rd vaccination can be carry on.

The pic is taken while waiting for our turn to see the vet. Pika, i hope everything is fine. Be brave ok? Our Lovely Boy.

Cheerios,
Jonathan
